Jesus was given many descriptive names in the Bible. This activity encourages the students to look a passage up in their Bible and determine what name that passage gives for Jesus.
The activity can be done individually or in a small group. There are 12 passages to look up so it can be time consuming. It might be a good idea to spread it over 2 or 3 class sessions.
The activity is self correcting so minimal teacher input is necessary. Place the folder in a central location so all the kids can see the pockets. Stack cards in center of table with scripture on top. Students should not look at the back of the cards until after they finish the activity. Student looks up passage on card and determines what name for Jesus is mentioned. He then places the card in the appropriate pocket. After all the scripture cards have been placed in the pockets, take them out and turn them over. The color square on the back of the card will match the color of the pocket if it is in the correct one. Instructions for making folder activity is on the pdf:
Jesus, Name Above All Names pdf
For some reason I cannot print page two. I just comes out as a blank page.
I don’t know what the problem could be. Maybe you should reload the page and try again. I hope you get it working for you.
I like this idea, we are getting ready to do a lesson on Whats in a name, and we are going to be talking about Jesus’ name and the different ones given. Thanks for sharing this!
