Sometimes, studying the trials of Jesus can be confusing. There are a lot of people who are introduced quickly. This activity will help the student learn a little about 6 of the people involved in the trial.
This activity uses pictures of the 6 people introduced. I used pictures from the Children’s Bible Cards. They are no longer in print. Other sources of pictures would be coloring books and old Bible story books
Cut the pictures in half, glued the bottom half on the inside of the file folder and glued a scripture and description of the character above the picture.
The top half of the pictures are stored in a pocket located in the center of the pictures.
These pictures have the name of the character on the back of them. The student should place these cards picture side down so they don’t just match the pictures.
The student matches the character named on the card with the scripture/description/picture on the file folder.
When they turn the card over, they should see the completed picture letting them know they got the correct answer.
The characters highlighted in the activity are Peter, Pilate’s wife, Pilate, Barabbas, Caiaphas and Judas.
Since the pictures are not mine to share, I cannot share the pdf of this activity. I hope by sharing pictures of the file folder activity you are inspired to create a similar activity.
Super idea – very concrete way for children to sort through a lot of information
