Vocabulary can be a stumbling block to children (adults too) understanding scripture. Either their vocabulary just hasn’t grown to the level the Bible uses or words found in the Bible are just not used in our everyday lives. It’s important to make sure your students understand the vocabulary used. It can be done as simply as talking about it as it comes up. Adding a kinesthetic activity can make it a lot more fun and memorable.
Unknown God Vocabulary Matching Activity PDF
This activity is best stored in an envelope. I used a white envelope approximately 7″ x 10″. I’m not positive about the size but you get the idea.
There are 2 sets of cards. One has the vocabulary words, the other has the definitions. The vocabulary and definitions are the same as used in this similar activity: Unknown God Vocabulary File Folder Activity.
The student matches the vocabulary word with the definition.
After the match is made, turn the cards over. The sticker on the back of the cards will match if the cards match. Any stickers can be used as long as there are two identical ones for each set of vocabulary/definitions. If stickers are not available, you can draw matching shapes on the back. Vary the colors and shapes as necessary to have enough for each vocabulary/definition to have its unique set.
