This file folder activity was used when studying the life of Christ with elementary students. The purpose of the activity is to have the student find the scripture listed on the card, read it and determine what event in Christ’s life it is describing.
The pictures were taken from a poster I bought at a teacher’s supply store. The poster is published by Carson Dellosa and can be purchased here: All About Jesus. Any pictures will work though. I let the available pictures dictate which events were used.
Pictures are glued to pockets in random order. I usually make my own pockets. They are cheap, quick and work just as well as buying library pockets. Cut pockets to desired size. Fold under about 1/4″ on 3 sides. Apply thin strip of glue to flaps created from folds. Place on file folder.
The back of the folder has the answers and a pocket to store the scripture strips. The pocket on the back is made the same as the little pockets inside the folder. I like to laminate the folder at this point. After laminating, use an x-acto blade to cut open the tops of the pockets.
The student reads the scripture listed on the card and puts it in the pocket that depicts the event on the card.
Sorry that I don’t have a pdf to share with you. I hope that seeing the pictures might inspire to make something similar.
