Children Are A Gift From The Lord

Solomon gives lots of advice to parents and children in the book of Proverbs. Here is a take home activity that can be used as a review during class and will hopefully spur some conversation at home.

In any relationship, there are 2 sides and each side has a responsibility. In the parent and child relationship this is true as well. In this activity the child will be asked to decide which verses from the New Testament, Proverbs and Deuteronomy are directed to the parent and which are directed to the child. The verses are then glued under the appropriate flap.

Feel free to adjust this activity so that it will fit your group of children. Less verses could be used. Older children could be asked to copy the verses down instead of just gluing them in the proper place. It could also be done as a class activity by enlarging the pictures and using a large magnetic board or other large area to attach the verses under or around the appropriate picture. It could be used as a folder activity as well.

I used this as part of the Books of Poetry Project Folder.
