The Story of God’s People — United Kingdom

by | May 27, 2023 | 17 Time Periods | 0 comments

The Judges was a rough time period for God’s people. But it was their own fault. They kept following the peoples they had failed to remove from the promised land. The more they interacted with them, the more they wanted to be like them until there came a time that God was forgotten and they demanded Samuel to give them a king! A king like all the other nations. They had forgotten that they had accepted God as their king.

“No, but we will have a king over us, that we also may be like all the nations, and that our king may judge us and go out before us and fight our battles.” 1 Samuel 8:19-20

Thus begins the period we will call the United Kingdom. This name, of course, implies what will come after. If they are united now, they won’t always be.
